Madonna contributed 2 songs to the film's soundtrack, "Time Stood Still" and the international hit "American Pie", a cover version of the 1970s Don McLean single.Madonna's 8th studio album, Music, was released in 2000 and debuted at number one on the Unitd State album charts. It produced 3 successful singles in the United State; "Music", "Don't Tell Me" and "What It Feels Like for a Girl". The latter having a video which depicts murders by car, was banned by MTV and VH1.
